It has been a very long wait for Scotland to qualify for any finals. 22 years to be exact. The last international competition that Scotland qualified for was the World Cup 1998. Scotland qualified for the Euro 2021 competition in a dramatic fashion beating Israel and Serbia in the play-offs.

Playing with Liverpool, Robertson has arguably become one of the best left-backs in Europe. He is Scotland’s talisman and leader.
Clarke spent the majority of his playing career at Chelsea where he made 330 appearances for the club. After retiring in 1998 he immediately went into management and worked as assistant manager under many other notable managers. He was appointed as Scotland head coach in May 2019 and immediately set about improving their defensive stability.

Even though Christie missed some of the qualifying games because of an enforced quarantine, he returned to the team for their play-off game versus Serbia and scored Scotland’s only goal in the game. Scotland won the game through the penalty shootout and qualified for their first final international event in 22 years.
