The “Three Lions” of England will compete in Group D against the 2nd placed world champions Croatia, their Scottish neighbors and the Czech Republic at this year’s edition of the 2020 UEFA European Championship. During the qualifiers, the English had to compete with Bulgaria, Kosovo, Montenegro and the Czech Republic. They finished top of their group with only one loss against the Czech Republic.
The 1966 world champions are currently coached by former international Gareth Southgate. The legendary goalkeeper Peter Shilton is the record international player with 125 appearances.
Former Manchester United star striker Wayne Rooney scored 53 goals in a national jersey and tops the list of all-time goalscorers.

The group stage matches for England are as follows:
- Sunday 13 June 2021 at 2:00 p.m. against Croatia in Wembley, London
- Friday June 18, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. against Scotland at Wembley, London
- Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. against the Czech Republic in Wembley, London
Should the English win group D, they would have to face group runners-up from F on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. in the Aviva Arena, Dublin.
If England only finishes second in the group, the team will have to play the second placed team from Group E on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at the Parken, Copenhagen.
As one of the best third-placed teams they would have to play against the winners of group C in Budapest at 5 p.m. or against the winner of group B at 8 p.m. in Bilbao, San Mamés on Sunday, June 27, 2021. Depending on the draw, there is also the possibility that the Three Lions will have to play against the winner of Group E on Tuesday, June 29 at 8:00 p.m. in Glasgow.
