Team Highlights
The national soccer team of Finland will play against Belgium, Denmark and Russia in Group B at this year’s UEFA European Championship 2020. During the qualifiers the Finnish team played against Armenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Greece, Italy and Lichtenstein in group J and finished in second place behind Italy.
Finland are currently coached by Markku Kanerva, who has held the job since 2016. Tim Sparv, who is currently under contract with the Greek football club AE Larisa, is the team captain. The former star player of Ajax Amsterdam and FC Barcelona Jari Litmanen is the most capped player with 137 appearances.
Litmanen is currently their top goal scorer with 32 goals, but Teemu Pukki, currently at 29 goals is catching up.

The group stage matches for Finland are as follows:
- Saturday June 12th 2021 at 5:00 p.m. against Denmark at Parken, Copenhagen
- Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 2 p.m. against Russia in the Gazprom Arena, St. Petersburg
- Monday, June 21, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. against Belgium in the Gazprom Arena, St. Petersburg
Should the Finns win group B, they would compete as group winners on Sunday, June 27th, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. in San Mamés, Bilbao against the third-placed team from either group A / D / E / F.
If Finland finishes second in the group, the team will have to play the second-placed team from Group A at the Johan Cruyff Arena, Amsterdam on Saturday, 26 June 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
As one of the best third-placed teams they would either have to play against the winner of Group F on Monday, June 28th, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. in Bucharest or on Tuesday, June 29th at 8:00 p.m. in Glasgow, Hampden Park against the winner of group E.
