The Squadra Azzurra of Italy will compete in Group A against Switzerland, Turkey and Wales at this year’s UEFA European Championship 2020. The “Azzurri” finished at the top of their group in the qualifiers with a maximum of 30 points against Armenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Finland, Greece and Lichtenstein.
The 2006 world champions are coached by Roberto Mancini, who is supported by Attilio Lombardo, among others. The goalkeeper legend Gianluigi “GiGi” Buffon is the record national player with 176 appearances.

The group stage matches of Italy are as follows:
- Friday, June 11th, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. against Turkey in the Olympic Stadium, Rome
- Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. against Switzerland in the Olympic Stadium, Rome
- Sunday 20 June 2021 at 5:00 p.m. against Wales at the Olympic Stadium, Rome
Should the Italians win Group A, they would face group runners-up from Group C on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. in Wembley, London.
If Italy finishes second in the group, the team will have to play the second-placed team from Group B at the Johan Cruyff Arena, Amsterdam on Saturday, June 26th 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
As one of the best third-placed teams they would either have to play against the winner of Group B in Bilbao on Sunday, June 27th, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. or on Monday, June 28th at 8:00 p.m. in Bucharest, National Arena against the winner of Group F or playing against the winner of Group E on Tuesday 29 June at 8:00 p.m. in Glasgow, Hampden Park.
