Slovakia will face Poland, Sweden and Spain in Group E at this year’s UEFA European Championship 2020. During the qualifiers, the Slovaks were in the same group as Azerbaijan, Croatia, Hungary and Wales and finished third in the group. In the play-offs they then won against Ireland and Northern Ireland to make it into the competition.
The national team of Slovakia is coached by Stefan Tarkovic as interim coach at the time of publication. Marek Hamsik is the team captain.
With 26 goals in 126 games, Hamsik is both their most capped player and the record scorer.
