Team Highlights
The national football team of Turkey will compete in Group A against Italy, Switzerland and Wales in this year’s UEFA European Championship 2020th During the qualifiers, the Turks finished second in their group behind France and ahead of Iceland, Albania, Andorra and Moldova.
Turkey head coach is Senol Günes who’s been in the job since 2019. On the field, Burak Yilmaz is team captain. The former goalkeeper of FC Barcelona Rüstü Recber is their record player with 120 appearances.
Hakan Sükür tops the list of the most successful goal scorers with 51 goals.

Turkey’s group stage matches look like this:
- Friday June 11, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. against Italy in the Olympic Stadium, Rome
- Wednesday June 16, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. against Wales at the Olympic Stadium, Baku
- Sunday, June 20, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. against Switzerland in the Olympic Stadium, Baku
Should Turkey win group A, they would face group runners-up from group C on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. in Wembley, London.
If Turkey reaches second place in the group, the team will have to play the second in Group B at the Johan Cruyff Arena, Amsterdam on Saturday 26 June 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
As one of the best third-placed teams they would either have to play against the winner of Group B in Bilbao on Sunday, June 27th, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. or on Monday, June 28th at 8:00 p.m. in Bucharest, National Arena against the winner of Group F or playing against the winner of Group E on Tuesday 29 June at 8:00 p.m. in Glasgow, Hampden Park.

Due to the competition in Group A against strong football nations like Wales and Switzerland, it will be relatively difficult for Turkey to survive the group stage. They are currently at 100/1 to win.
